Superbowl XLIX and Paying NFL Players

Reading Time: < 1 minute

Now that the Super Bowl is over, we ought to pay attention to some of the football story lines on the horizon.

Some “experts” are calling for Russell Wilson to take less money in his impending contract negotiation, so the Seahawks can save cap space.

It’s easy to be generous with someone else’s money.

If Seahawks front office wants to keep the squad together, let them open up their wallets. Why do the players always have to take the hit?

If it’s important enough to Seattle to field a contender, they will find a way to get it done—no more complicit support of media hypocrites: http://goo.gl/9cxOeq

Too much of this nonsense from ESPN and other outlets.

Player careers are short enough already. Why don’t NFL owners get more flak for this? They already have sweetheart deals, stadiums built on the backs of taxpayers. Let them put those funds to use instead of squeezing more out of the players.
